I work in a trauma center as an Respiratory Therapist. I have done this for 20 years and have seen some horrific human tragedies. Yet when it is someone you know or a friends relative you are caring for it takes on a whole different dimension. Last night a friend lost a close family member to an auto accident. When all was said and done a young life ended senselessly. When I went to console my friend, she said one of the most profound things I have heard in a long time “go home and hug your kids, because you don’t know how long you have them for”.
Are you grateful? I mean, are you really grateful for the life you have. Do you give thanks because you are still above ground today. You should be, every moment we have is a moment to live, love, laugh, grow it is a gift and we should all be grateful for it. Life is taken for granted, until it is no more. Be grateful for your life, live in a state of gratefulness and you will find that the life you have will be far more abundant than you ever dreamed.
