Are you prepared to succeed?
February 16th, 2010 by admin No comments »Have you ever seen that tv special about the lotto winners. Usualy a group of 10 or so winners who have won the lotto after playing it for years. Finally they win and all their dreams come true, well almost. For most of the lotto winners the instant wealth becomes a nightmare and eventually they end up losing everything. Some times they end up where they started, other times, they are worse off.
Why does this happen? It is in fact a law, you do not get something for nothing, and you must be prepared for what you receive and must have a plan for receiving it. If you want to be a multi-millionaire, do you know what to do with the money. How will you make it grow? What bank or banks will you put it in? What type of accounts will you use? This may seem like a trivial matter, after all you can always figure out details when you get the money, right? By establishing what will happen to the riches once they are gained, you are telling the universe that you are ready. You are also sending a strong message to your subconscious mind that the act of obtaining the riches has in a very real way already happened.
There is also another point to think about. Are you grateful for what you already have? Do you handle what you have with care? The idea is called stewardship and it goes like this, he who has little and manages it well will get more. He who has little and manages it poorly will end up with less! Are you a good steward of what you have? If not do not despair. There are great teachers out there who can teach you. The very best at the money game is Dave Ramsey, his no nonsense way of dealing with debt and wealth building will, if you apply the knowledge, get you out of debt and into wealth. Dave Ramsey is featured in this months Success Magazine.
Are you a type of person who can handle great wealth? If not then listening to Jim Rohn or reading some of his wonderful books will help you become a better person. Jim seems fond of saying that it is not the million that makes the person but the journey taken. Not an exact quote and I am sure I did not do it justice. Jim Rohn passed away this last December and it is a great loss for the Personal Development community. You can view videos of his memorial service and tribute page at SUCCESS.COM. No we are not affiliated, Success is just a great resource for those who want to achieve the best in their lives.
So, are you prepared to succeed? If you start working on who you are and the kind of person you want to be, then success is sure to flow your way.

The 11 Forgotten Laws
February 11th, 2010 by admin No comments »The 11 Forgotten Laws presented by Bob Proctor and Mary Morrissey, is based on the work of Raymond Holliwell and his book, Working with the Law. Within the book Holliwell presents 11 universal laws including the law of attraction, that will help you succeed in life. In the seminar each law is presented in it own section with Bob Proctor and Mary Morriessy taking turns reading the relevant material and then discussing its application. It is the discussions and teachings of both these wonderful teachers, that give the listener the most value. However it must be said, that Holliwell’s use of theological terminology and some would say twisting of terms might cause some to think twice about listening to this program
There is without a doubt a lot of good and useful information in this audio seminar. Mindvalley, has put together a great package. Many reviewers have given the forgotten laws very good reviews. I on the other hand am not so impressed. Much of the material is actually a rehashing of Napoleon Hill and Wallace Wattles, there are even some sections of Holliwell’s work where he out right copies sections of both the previously mentioned authors. This of course is a reflection on Holliwell’s work and not Bob Proctor or Mary Morrissey.
I guess the question to ask here is this, how deep into the law of attraction do you really need or want to go? The movie The Secret introduced much of the world to the law of attraction and some of the corresponding laws that go with it. Then if one really wanted to go in-depth, the Secret Science of Getting Rich Click Here! was and is a great seminar to take one to the next level.
For the money and time I would say The Secret Science of Getting Rich Click Here! by Bob Proctor, Jack Cannfield, and Rev. Michael Beckwith is the better product. However it has been said, that in the field of personal development you should listen to and read everything you can. Drown out the rubbish and use the pearls of wisdom that can be found. The 11 Forgotten Laws definitely has many pearls and odds are you may enjoy it. To purchase the 11 Forgotten laws Click Here!

The Balanced Life
February 11th, 2010 by admin No comments »In economics there is an inherit understanding that everything and I mean everything has a cost. The cost may not be in the form of money but in the form of opportunity. When it is said that one should live a balanced life, it is often presented as though perfect balance without sacrifice can be achieved. Of course this is not possible, there must always be an opportunity cost, other wise known as a sacrifice. If a parent decides to attend a child’s afternoon baseball game, then the opportunity to make an appointment with a client may be lost.
Now I am not saying that is a bad thing. In fact it should be done more often than not. The idea is this, in order to live a balanced life one must learn to make choices that benefit all areas of life and not just one. Many top sales people will tell you that to get to the top of business and make a fortune, you will have to give up family time, so much so that you may not have a family by the time a fortune is made. Not true! I say, not true at all.
So how does one achieve balance? Well the answer may seem somewhat simple but simply put, a planned life is a balanced life. Do you find yourself running around the office like a chicken with its head cut off? Never really getting things done in a timely manner. The most likely cause is that you have not planned the task you must get done that day. Task management, not just time management needs to be the focus of a balanced life. What needs to be done, how does it get done, and when can it be done must be the questions asked.
Once you have the questions, you can plan the answers and your day, week, month, year. The key is to stay focused, while at work focus on work not on things that need to be done at home. While at home focus on home and don’t even try thinking about work.
Of course it means keeping a planner, and staying on top of things. Which can be a hassle and if your not in the habit can be rather hard to do. Yet if you keep at it, soon it will be second nature. Your boss or clients will thank you and your family will thank you.
Now I am new to this whole blog thing and while I hope my writing will improve and soon I hope, I know that there are better writers on just about any subject out there. When it comes to the subject of time and task management the February edition of Success Magazine has many great articles on time and money, which is their theme for this month.

Happy New Year and Happy New You!
January 6th, 2010 by admin 1 comment »The New Year is a great time to start or renew a commitment to personal development. It is though the whole world is starting with a fresh new attitude and anything is possible. Of course if your a student of personal development than you know that anything is possible. With that said, allow me to add to your arsenal of pd products and inspiration by suggesting a site I recently found.
www.masterytv.com is a personal development video community that was founded by a gentleman named Tom Wood. On this site you can find The 30 Day Course in Mastery as a free resource. I have watched the first six days and I am really enjoying them. You will hear from different speakers each day, covering a vast array of personal development topics. I have enjoyed the videos I have watched a great deal. I am sure you will find them useful in your pd quest.
Well that is all for now. I know that this is the begining of a great year of all of us. It won’t be trouble free but it will be a year of growth if we want it to be.

Happy Holidays

Video and more video
November 22nd, 2009 by admin No comments »I am the kind of person who likes and reacts to sight and sound. Don’t get me wrong, I do well with reading, but video seems to have a better stick rate than just reading. I am learning this all to well, since I am a distance ed student. I do better with the classes that have the lectures taped, instead of just reading and testing, reading and testing.
That brings me to the real subject of this blog. I am a subscriber to TSTN, The Success Training Network. For a poultry sum per month I have access to great teachers such as Bob Proctor, Steve Siebold, and Dan Lier and others.
This seems to be a great way to learn and to stay motivated. The only down side is that TSTN’s program offerings don’t seem to grow or even change.
Then there is the idea of the mindmovie. This kit helps you create a short 3 to 6 minute movie that acts as a flash motivator, to keep you on tract and keep the law of attraction going strong in your life. Outside of their overly toxic marketing, I like this idea and the product reviews seem to be good. However I have noticed that much of the reviews are being done by MindMovie team members. Some of the results of the MindMovie kit can be seen on YouTube, just type in mind movies.
Video, especially video that can be viewed on the computer, is becoming a very potent tool for teaching. In my humble opinion I think tstn.com and mindmovies.com are a great way to learn and stay motivated in your quest for personal growth.
A lesson in gratitude
November 21st, 2009 by admin No comments »I work in a trauma center as an Respiratory Therapist. I have done this for 20 years and have seen some horrific human tragedies. Yet when it is someone you know or a friends relative you are caring for it takes on a whole different dimension. Last night a friend lost a close family member to an auto accident. When all was said and done a young life ended senselessly. When I went to console my friend, she said one of the most profound things I have heard in a long time “go home and hug your kids, because you don’t know how long you have them for”.
Are you grateful? I mean, are you really grateful for the life you have. Do you give thanks because you are still above ground today. You should be, every moment we have is a moment to live, love, laugh, grow it is a gift and we should all be grateful for it. Life is taken for granted, until it is no more. Be grateful for your life, live in a state of gratefulness and you will find that the life you have will be far more abundant than you ever dreamed.
give every dollar a job or a name or a plan
November 21st, 2009 by admin No comments »This week my employer decided to give all of us hard working medical types a Christmas bonus. So now the question is, what to do with it? You see, if your not ready to receive money, or health or anything else for that matter, then you either waste the opportunity, or it passes you by. Money, even in the form of a paycheck, is an opportunity. You must know what you want that money to do. If you don’t direct your money it will direct you or forsake you. Either way you lose. So, do you have a plan for your money? If not, a budget would be the best place to start. Once you master a budget, you will find that money is your servant, not the other way around.
Kermit the Frog and other self help gurus
November 19th, 2009 by admin No comments »Doing my monthly survey of self help books at the local B&N, I found the usual plethora of celebrity “follow me” type books. One book in particular, struck me as well placed. Dear old Kermit the Frog, has his own self help book. It is in the form of his life story. No, not the life story of Jim Henson the muppet creator, but of Kermit himself. Now I only glanced at the book, but it fit on the shelf so well, right between the CNN anchor and the B list actress, offering their views on how you should live your life. To tell the truth I think Kermit has the most vaild of the celebrity offerings, because afterall it will never be easy being Green.
